What I thought... what I got
So I was driving my wife to work early this morning and got a flat tire
warning pop up in red on the dash. I pulled over as soon as I could
about 500 meters later and saw that the tire was indeed low. So drove
about another 100 meters to a gas station and inflated the tire. I could
hear air escaping and figured I had picked up a nail or screw. I dropped
my wife off and drove back to the gas station and saw that I lost about
6lbs. So i topped it up and headed home. When I got home I saw that I
had lost about 8lbs and could still hear the leak. So I pulled the tire and
found the nail. I was just about to put a stitch in when the tire fell onto
the side and thats what I saw. Ugh. The weather here has recently
plummeted and I was wondering if you guys think the cold played a
part. It is a winter Bridgestone Blizzak. 275/35 19 So off to my tire
guy. I installed my summer rear (all season) and as I was looking under
the car I noticed the same cracking on the other rear. So back off to my
tire guý for the second time in an hour. Tires are not cheap for these
cars as well all know ESPECIALLY close to Christmas. So now it's two
new rears instead of one.
Heres a pic of winter tires up front and summers on the rear.
Tonight I topped all tire pressures on all 4 and its gonna get COLD. I
sure hope they hold pressure to the morning as I cant afford to put
two more new ones on and we have holiday travelling to do.
