Jeep patriot, compass, are these models bad? right now there are

I am thinking of buying a car. Patriot is about the same price as a toyota corolla. There is a $4500 cash back, the Ontario price is $17800 CAD, I really like Jeep. However, it is not as reliable as corolla. It may only last for 7-8 years. What do you guys think?
