It's more tha I expected. I did this on my old car.

I simply cut the hose one inch shorter, attach it back and refill the coolant with $10. but it depends on where the crack is. A new hose may cost $30. Of course, technician needs to feed his kids, pay mortgage, etc. It not too bad.
