I would think you are fine. usually, the gas gauge will stay where it is even the car is not running. it should not go back to zero if you shut the car as long as there is gas. at least that is how it is on my cars.
Then I would not worry about fuel pump for now. If you continue experiencing difficulties with cold starting, then worry about the fuel pump at that point.
