好了，问题找到了。transmission is dead

修车工检查了，说是transmission fluid is full, but the "part" is dead. need to rebuild or replace it. he can rebuild it for about $2200。 另外，front drive shaft is missing. but that's not what stopped car though. 

this mechanic sounds honest to me. 

怎么办？我朋友上周5才花了3000美元买的。
