Brake No Response, Car almost Crashed on a Highway, how to do wi

I experienced similar situation with brake did not work and felt like car accelerating last Sunday afternoon on a highway, it was raining and dealer said it could happened. It is Camry 2011, the dealer checked the data and let a field technician checked, then told me when I was trying pump the brake to avoid reduce speed and avoid the car in the front, the car smartly invoke the ABS system to avoid lock the wheel, that I was feeling brake did not response and accelerating, I urgently turned the car onto the highway curb to avoid crash into the front car, but dealer confirmed with me it was nothing to do with the quality recall regarding the Toyota accelerator issue! 
If it happen again what can I do ? they said you need to drive conservatively . is it the right thing to do with customer from a Toyota dealership ? I just cannot put life in jeopardy again. Any master know how to deal with this thing ?
