Help Pls: 2005 BMW X5 couple of issues

Hello, Everyone.

A friend of my went back China, left me his 2005 BMW X5 4.4. I jusy experienced couple issues which local BMW dealer could not found any problems. Can any of experts answer or experienced before?

1) when cold start (not really cold weather, plus 4c to 6c), could smell gas burning when starting the car, disappeared after couple of minutes running.

2) also cold start, if I do not let her run for couple of minutes before taking off, it would "ban" or "jerk" between 1st and 2nd gear for couple of time. Not happen all the times though.

Any ideas?
