It might be that Cylinder 3 is in the intake stroke.  The negine is 4 cylinder 16 valves type, meaning 2 intake valves and 2 exhaust valves per cylinder.  This way, the total opening area for intake and exhaust is larger than single intake and exhaust valve.  The two valves should move the same way.

Why change the valve spring?  You need to resolve the too rich problem.
