2005-2010 Odyssey Owners please read

2005-2010 Odyssey Power Steering Loss

I recently bought this 06 Odyssey from a neighbor with 60k miles, out of warranty.  I found out nearly all 2005 and 2006 Odysseys, maybe also all 2007 -2010 models, have defective power steering - loss of power steering at very low speed.  A Honda Service Bulletin, Honda-A10-076.pdf of Nov 25, 2010, instructed the replacement of defective power steering pump P/N 56110-RGL-A02 with a different upgraded pump P/N 56110-RGL-A03. 

Since mine is out of warranty, and I am not the original owner, I am having hard time to press Honda to replace the power steering pump as good-will.  But the car has always been serviced at the local dealer and the service advisor agrees that this is manufacturer defect not consumer abuse. 

The only excuse for Honda not to issue a safety recall is because the failure happens at low speed, usually in parking lot situations, so it is not life threatening.  It would turn ugly if Honda does not step up the responsibility.  WXC members if you have experienced similar problem please share your story.
