I replaced my 96 Accord timing belt and blancer shaft belt at 75k miles. Both belts looked fine.
A friend had timing belt snapped when he was driving his 97 Accord V6 at 110k miles. He called me to his car. 1st thing I asked him was if he knew timing belt was ever replaced, the answer was no. I told him not to crank anymore. Towed to a Handa dealer, it was the broken timing belt. Costed him $1100 to replace. Therefore, when the timing belt sanpped while you are driving, you can just installed new belt and be happy only if you did not crank the starter after engine died.
