MOTUL is ester oil based,not PAO based. Ester oil is a

better stock lubricant than any other type of stock oil. However, most car engines are not designed to use ester oil. A full ester based motor oil actually may do more harm than good to your engine. A blended oil may be a better choice. And one thing I noticed is that the ester oil has very strong cleaning power by itself. Frequent filter changes may be necessay for the first few thousand miles, especailly when engine is relatively old. (For those engines, I suggest to change both oil and filter at 100 miles of the first change, then change filter at 500 miles, then at 1,500 miles after the second change. The third oil change should be at 2,500 miles. After that, follow the usual schedule. ) If you want to go through all these troubles, you may find out ester oil will benefit your car or not.
