Try to reset the code, drive the car for a while and see if the trouble code would come back

Did you check to see if there are any recalls on Catalyst converter ghost code issue for your model? If so, you might head to the dealer to fix it.

P0420有可能是ghost code（it points the issue at catalyst converter, but it could be O2 sensors), 很难查到是哪个O2 sensor出问题，你可以先换一个，不行再换另外的一个. 有时嫌麻烦，只好咬咬牙把catalyst converter前后O2 sensors给换了(I did the same thing for one of my 小老婆s a couple years ago in order to clear the code. I ended up replacing 4 o2 sensors, and California-spec catalyst converter. big bucks!)。十年的小老婆，O2 sensors也差不多了.

As the other pointed out, the catalyst converter is expensive. The part could cost up to $1k. Are you sure that you were getting the good quality part?
