Chinese government steps in to push energy-efficient vehicles

Government offers 3,000块 (U.S. $439) to consumers who buy energy-efficient cars.Including gasoline and diesel cars with an engine capacity of 1.6 liters or less that consume 20 percent less fuel than current models. Also launched a trial operation to offer as much as $7,310 for plug-in hybrids and $8,780 for battery-powered electric cars in five cities.
