请教toyota Corolla故障问题？

我是2007年8月份买的新车。toyota corolla LE. 我住在美国东北部。天气很冷。

今天早晨我发现check engine light is on，但是车子在高速上开的很好。至少我没有感觉任何异常。下了高速，在一个红灯前停下，然后再启动，我踩油门，车子就像泄了气的皮球动的很慢，怎们踩它都快不起来。

送到toyota dealer,他们最后告诉我说在车里put a computer.我问他，what is for? what is wrong with my car?他们也不给我为多解释，就说this computer is to control the system, such as engine and transmission, etc. 2005年以后的车都应该加 this computer.

我想请教一下是不是最近和toyota公司宣布matrix or corolla 车一些问题报道 regarding to inexplicably stalled in traffic相关。

我真是怕它再有什么故障。毕竟这是很危险的事情发生呀！
