因月初在拉斯维加斯买了房子要装修的关系，我在当地逗留了一个星期，闲来无事，决定到车行逛逛。
大多数车行都集中在撒哈拉大道上，延绵数里。
我把车子驶进Lexus代理商，刚把车停下，一个sales man快步向我走过来，”Hey, nice car”. 我说”Hey, dude, you mean those Lexus cars or my car? “他只是微笑不作回答。
My name is Chris, do you care for a drink？我说”I had 9 bottles of Heineken within 2 hours and now I pretty sure making a wrong move, other wise I won’t be here to donate money for you. I’m looking for brand new LS, Chris”. 他听后大笑, and says. “Gotcha”.
我俩一起走进陈列室，他很有礼貌地为我开门并说，I’ll show you a couple of my collections down stairs.
地下车库并不大，一排三行大约80辆车左右，全是新车。他说LS460只剩下5部，2010车款要到11月中旬才有货。
我看上一辆灰黑色的，里程表只有12 miles，问他可否Test drive，他说要问问经理
当他hung up 电话之后，他说”at your pleasure, sir, we do have a demo up stairs for test drives”. 我说”no, I prefer to take that one for a test drive because it might have malfunctions that the demo car doesn’t have. I want to see if it has any problems before I buy it.”
他又打电话，两分钟之后出乎意外地他对我说,”Get in, Let’s go”
2009 Lexus LS460车款给我的印象是豪而不华，最让我惊喜的是Navigation用上了Touch Screen. 美中不足的是后排坐位略显不够宽敞，急速加油反应慢，煞车保持了日本车一贯的作风。。。软到惊。
15分钟后回到停车场，Chris急不待及地问我”How you feel?”, 我对他说”Smooth ride, awesome car. That’s the one I’ve been looking for”. Chris问我”How do you want to pay for your car?” 我说”Isn’t troublesome to your commissions if I’m going to pay by check all at once?”他说”Great, less documents and it’s much easier for us.”我心想是时候了解价钱了，我问他”Chris, I like that car so badly, can you please do whatever you can to get me a discount?”他说”There’s not that much I can do. But I can give you two years extra warranty for free.”
我知道Chris他没有多大权力讲价，我也清楚我自己不是来买车的，只想知道究竟LS460卖出的最低价位。所以我就跟他说”Alright, Chris, I’ll take the car today, and thanks for your friendly help”.他听后高兴到不得了，马上和我到楼上office办手续。
我知道办买卖手续时一定要经过sales manager同意，不出所料，那个经理拿着份合同进来了，我们相互寒喧过后，Chris在填表，我对那个经理说”What’s the bottom line price for this car?”他说”For you, I’ll make it sixty-nine grand plus tax, is this not a good deal?”我说”One problem is that, I don’t really like the color of the car. My highest offer is sixty-five grand OTD”. 那个经理看着我说”You do know that the sales tax is already fifty-six hundred.” 我对那个经理说”I know, But I think this car doesn’t deserve to be sold at this price.” 经理听后大大声地说”Make it sixty-five grand plus tax, that’s the bottom line.”我一边起身一边说”Come on boss, I’m not a good negotiator.”然后，我走过去同Chris握握手，并说”Chris, call me if you are willing to sell the car to me at that price I’ve offered. See you!”

不入虎穴，焉得虎子。很多人都说Lexus是没有价钱可谈的。买车之前，确定要买什么样的车。不要同sales man讲价，因为他的职责只是介绍车给你。价钱可以等到办手续之前慢慢谈。
