Derwood man killed, four injured in Rockville crash
Investigation continues into three-car crash Wednesday night

A three-car crash claimed the life of a Derwood man and injured four others,
including a child, Wednesday night in Rockville, county police reported.
The crash occurred at approximately 7 p.m. in the 16400 block of Crabbs
Branch Way near a Montgomery County school bus depot, said Assistant Chief
Scott Graham, a spokesman for the county Fire and Rescue Service.
Police said a preliminary investigation revealed that a 2003 Toyota Camry
driven by 32-year-old Jun Xiang Zhang, of the 7600 block of Moccasin Lane in
Derwood, was traveling south on Crabbs Branch Way when for unknown reasons
Zhang lost control of the car and struck the right curb.
Zhang overcorrected, lost control again and crossed into the northbound lane
where the car collided with a 2008 Ford Taurus driven by 32-year-old Jenny
Marie Teixeira, of the 18700 block of Purple Martin Lane in Gaither*****urg,
police said.
A 1996 Toyota Corolla driven by Alfredo Delcid, 37, of the 8300 block of
Amity Circle in Gaither*****urg, then rear-ended the Ford Taurus, police said.
Qihong Sun, 34, also of the 7600 block of Moccasin Lane, was riding in the
Toyota Camry and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. He was the
front-seat passenger and had been wearing a seat belt, police said.
Zhang and the adult back-seat passenger, Bo Tang, of an unknown age and
address, were transported to Suburban Hospital in Bethesda with non-life-
threatening injuries, police said.
Teixeira was taken to Washington Hospital Center's MedSTAR Trauma Unit with
non-life-threatening injuries, police said. A 5-year-old boy sitting in a
booster seat behind the front-seat passenger was transported to Children's
National Medical Center in Washington, D.C., with non-life-threatening
injuries, police said.
A 3-year-old girl sitting in a child safety seat behind Teixeira was not
injured but also taken to Children's National Medical Center for a routine
check-up, police said.
Delcid was not injured and remained at the scene. His two passengers, a 15-
year-old boy and a 6-year-old girl, were also not injured.
The investigation is continuing. Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is
asked to call the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 301-840-2435.
