I went to Sears for oil change last weekend, and was told that the mechanics found some fluid around trasmission fluid tank. He said the transimiison pan gasket might be leaking and needs to be replaced. The cost is $180. But they said the trasmission fluid is now still at the proper level, not low yet. And it's not that urgent.
I don't know if it is really the transmission pan gasket leaking problem. Is it better to have Sears replace the transmission pan gasket or have some other mechanics check on the problem? Is there any way I can take a look and check by myself? My hu*****and doesn't know anything about cars, so I have to turn to your help.
Any input or sharing of experience is greatly appreciated.
