The reason? Most renters of cars are as granted the most careless people toward the rental car. When oil was due to change, as a renter in the middle of 3000 miles trip, for example, would he stop to change oil or switch another car before keep going? Even worse, the renter never knew when the oil change was due as the companiy never told them, so s/he would just keep driving to fulfil the entire trip, say, from San Diego to Anchorage, came back and returned the car to the same location. How many miles in total? About 6000 miles! So what kind of wear to the cylinders do you know?
If I were you, I'd stay away from this car.
I wouldn't buy a rental car
