Appreciate your input! I agree with you. My older car is 2k and 6 months out of warranty, tranny is dead, dealer quoted 8k to fix it. (on the other hand, they quoted 7k for trade in!).

What do you suggest is the best value/price ratio in USA? The only reason i'm thinking of BMW is that my old car is dead in their service department. As much as bad experiences I had with it, if I can just get rid of it now, i'll be happy. So they are trying to sell me a new car to take in the old one.

Since the old one is not drivable, i'd just trade in to them for peace of mind...

sigh, long story, i'm very frustrated...
