车子的check engine light 亮了 steady, 如何disable ?

2002 Malibu
突然check engine light 自己就亮了
我觉得车子没有问题
请问如何turn off?要拔掉电池线吗?正极还是负极? 等多长时间再接上.
另外我怀疑 这个灯和几天前的anti-theft灯亮有关联.
malibu的anti-theft灯亮是很臭名昭著的.
