It is painful to reach there: it is under the hood, under the windshield, perhaps on the firewall. The duct is a channel that direct air either to cooler or heater, or none, and send to the pannel, window, or floor. The dampers are used to direct the air. Sometime by play with the knob to redirect the air, it will get damper into right position.
