汽车的前面设计和后面设计的理念是完全不一样的:
前头要考虑各种碰撞,如 high-speed and low speed, ncap, iihs, 现在还要考虑碰行人的安全性。所以前头有crash zone. 不幸的 radiator 又要在前头散热,所以碰下来,肯定是一地 coolant. 但是只要人没事,设计的初衷就达到了。
车后头有油箱,所以要保证碰撞不能造成油箱变形,因此不会有 crash zone, 而是保证将力通过结构刚性传到前头,所以变形不会很大。
再者,前头碰撞基本上是本车在动,很多时候是高速前行,然后在0.1秒中fully stop. 而后头碰撞往往是被碰,从速度为零,在更长的时间中加速到(被推动)到10迈以下的速度。这两个对车子的 structure integrity 完全是不同的测试。不可以就以此的结果来比较两车的安全性。It's not apple to apple comparison!
