Subaru 2008 US销量增长0.3%, the only top 15厂家 post a gain.

Amazing but true! While the overall U.S. auto industry saw an 18.5% sales drop, Subaru of America reported a 0.3% sales increase for full-year 2008 sales over 2007, the only multi-nameplate manufacturer in the top 15 to post a gain. Tim Colbeck, vice president of sales for Subaru of America said, "To post increased sales for the year the Industry has just experienced reflects the strength of our products, our dealers and the Subaru brand. In a difficult market we were able to establish new sales records for Forester, Impreza and Legacy sedan and also record our highest market share ever."

The Subaru Forester, 2009 Motor Trend Sport/Utility of the Year, led Subaru sales with 60,748 sold, a 36.4% increase over 2007 with a starting MSRP of $19,995. The Impreza, with variants like the WRX and WRX STI which traded on the Car Stock Exchange, had sales of 49,098, a 6% gain over 2007. The Outback had sales of 44,280, a 22.8% drop from the previous year but Subaru's 4th best seller, the Legacy had sales of 22,596 a 7.1% rise over 2007. The Tribeca contributed 10,975 to Subaru's total U.S. sales of 187,208. All Subaru's have Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive drivetrains.

n my Southern California neighborhood I don't have to look too far to find a Subaru - next door and across street my neighbors have the Impreza WRX models. With this winter's heavy snowfall in many parts of the country, all-wheel drive shoppers could drive Subaru's 2009 sales past 2008. Also, to help that cause, Subaru will show a Concept Legacy Sedan this weekend at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
