车子碰了路边的铁皮栏杆，要报告警察吗？

周五上午开车，路上雪滑。转弯时车子失控，车尾甩了一下路边铁皮栏杆，弹回马上又恢复正常驾驶了。

我继续开到前面，找个地方停下车，发现车左后边挡泥板刮了个小口子。

给保险公司打电话。代理问我是否给路边 fence 造成 damage，如果有，他们需报告警察，并负责赔偿的。我当时很慌，忙说没有。她便说那就不用报告警察了。

其实当时我并不知道是否损坏路边栏杆了，只是根据我车子的轻微损失猜测没问题的。

现在想想有点害怕：这样将来会有麻烦吗？
