Please check here for real gas and diesel prices
http://www.sandiegogasprices.com/
It's 4.28 vs. 4.69
I'll answer one by one:
"How much more did you pay for the car comparing same featured gas version?"
==> I bought it about 1200 higher than gas version.
"What does each oil change cost you?"
==> $56 for every 10,000 miles
"Do you need to drive extra miles to find a diesel station?"
==> No, never had problem for diesel fuel
"Will you still drive the car when it is 300k-400k miles
old? That will be over 20 years old in your case. "
==> Why not? I have a MB already 22 years old and still shinning and running strong
"Diesel engine is good and cheaper than gas version. But just not as good as you think... "
==> Actually just opposite. Diesel engine is more expensive than gaser because it's built for lasting long.
==> Other points you didn't mention but I would like to list those here:
(1) Diesel engine is worrry free - once engine is started, it won't stop at middle of highway. You really don't see any diesel cars/trucks lying at roadsides with a red sticker on or flashing lights ticking.
(2) Maintenance is very minimum - there are no spark plugs, no ignition cables. It doesn't need battery to keep engine runing but only to start engine. The only maintenance is air and fuel filters, and oil changes.
(3) In California, diesel cars do not require smog tests.
Make sense at all?
Again where did you get the numbers?
