you are asking me a question that only the god and Judge know the answer. You have a valid special circumstance that worth a try. More research and paper work you lay out, more responsibility you look like. When you get into a situation while your words against cops, you want as much creditability as you need.

Tell the judge, you were drying X-bound on free way XXX at approximately XX:XX time. Your speed was approximately XX MPH and you were approximately 3 car space from the car in front of you which is a Year Model Color. (If you are not sure use the word approximately).

When you observed the car made a suddenly stop (suddenly break or suddenly decrease the speed), you made a quick decision to maneuver to your left hand side because there is a car in your right hand side lane. then when you want to back to your lane, CHP pulled you over.

If judge ask you how could you determine that car is breaking hard. Because you saw the break light, the space between you and the car in front of you were getting smaller quick. you hear tire sound etc.....
