Dealer is more expensive because they use OE (original Equipment) parts, which is up to 3 times of the price of aftermarket parts. They charge more on labor as well. Don't go dealer unless you have very complicated problem that is hard for other garage to figure out. Other garage should change $100 - 150 for brake change for most vehicles, depending on how much need to be done (turning rotor, etc).
