Asking about - Manual

My hu*****and car is old, so we decide to upgrade his car. He wants to buy either Acura or Lexus, but insist Manual Shift... He told me that it was more fun to drive manual than auto... I don't know how to drive manual, is there anyone who can tell me if it is true? I really hope he can give up and buy an auto in case something happend, I can still drive... Thank you!
