Whether its his intention or not, his statement actually helps to prove that, in real world the more HP engine (engine 1) possible has more than 202HP at a broader rpm range, before and after it reachs 244@6250 rpm.

This makes the engine 2, 202HP more awkward for this particular acceleration contest.

So, he's statement conveniently is a pro. in someway. It just made the outcome of the race more obvious.
