How is Chevy Cobalt?

I hate my toyota corolla. I bought it brand new in 2000, but the check-engine light was on and I spent a fortune repairing it and it keeps coming back. The reading is cylinder 1 misfire. Almost all the related parts were replaced but still the light is there. And this month it couldn't go through the inspection due to the fact. Right now I really feel reluctant to get it repaired anymore.

I got a GM credit card and earned about $2000 bonus over the years for purchasing a GM car. Last night we went to the dealer to take a look. I found the Cobalt's look is good. Does any of you have any idea if this car is somewhat reliable? Everybody says Toyota is good, but I just got very bad luck on my car. Someone tried to break in my car when it was still brand new and damaged the door lock on passenger side.And I don't like its plate number either.

This Chevy car comes with a 5 year warranty, sounds not bad, right? I have never purchased any cars other than Japanese make. My other car is Toyota Sienna. This time I am thinking of buying an American car seriously. Hate my corolla!

The quote I got from the dealer is that after the credit card earning, his discount, my trade-in corolla ($4000), price will be $6000. What do you think? I didn't bargain yet, think the number can be lower.
