Now I finally know that I'm talking apples and you are talking oranges. I've been thinking all along about your following statement:

:>>引擎马力最大输出的时候才是车轮获得扭矩最大的时候<<

It's obvious now that your "时候" means "selecting which gear", or K. I'm never in disagreement about this part. The same result can be derived with the torque curve, simply because one curve determines the other.

What I thought "时候" means is different stages of time when you are accelerating in one gear. To me it's more interesting because:

(1) you are dealing with a continuous variable x (rpm) rather than a discrete variable K,

(2) this process is what matters when you actually sit down to calculate total acceleration time.

And here, ifidonlike made the wrong argument that in-gear acceleration (or force at wheels) keeps increasing up to peak power rpm, whereas I demonstrated that it doesn't; it only increases up to peak torque rpm.

There it is. I just want to clarify that I don't disagree with what you actually said, but I thought you said something else.

Still, what "时候" should mean can be open to debate. :)
