I wonder though, how many motorcycle fatalities result from the steering wheel intruding into the rider's chest? Looks like it's just a marketing ploy leveraging off existing technology.

The best way to protect a motorcyclist is to prevent him from being ejected and providing him with a safety cage. Oh wait, BMW has already done that with the C1.
