pros: I could just buy 1 share of XIU(TSX60) @$24 or ZQQ(QQQ canada) @101.0 or one share of PNG @$0.40 with no charge, and I really like it.
cons: no level two bid/ask(I newly transfer to NBDB, have not found it)
you could open the account online yourself, have your external account linked to the brokerage
Other alternatives in Canada: WealthSimple(I do not like it when it allow to trade coins it will draw you to places where you shold not), there is one bank follow National bank, I cannot remember
