让孩子学开车还是就近上学？

儿子高二了，在学区里的一个gifted中学上学，坐车几乎不太可能，太远。

我想让他自己学开车，以便我有时腾不开身他自己开车去上学，或者就让他自己开吧。

以前妈妈在的时候，她觉得他学习吊儿郎当，对去那个gifted中学也不是怎么积极的。我那时觉得我们两个工作都稳定，也总能抽出时间送他，觉得应该送。现在就我一个人不是这么方便了。。。有时想干脆让他就近上学算了。
