Shouldn't use what you see here in this forum to set a standard

 

for your own children.  They'd feel it is out of reach and wouldn't even try.

Their idea of an easy life may be too "rosy."  Visit an apartment complex in the neighborhood and find out what the rent is.  Ask them what kind of job they need to get in order to afford living here, after all the taxes.

If they think they know everything there is to know, that's a proof that they know too little.

Have them do chores.
