I just discovered that there is a chance that Simufilam binding to filamin-A could ALSO be associated with proper filamin-A cleavage, and not just cytoskeletal regulation? This could affect Alzheimer's disease through nuclear regulation of androgen receptor function!!
If so?? This could be HUGE!!!
-"PTI-125 binds and reverses an altered conformation of filamin A to reduce Alzheimer's disease pathogenesis"
-"Androgen receptor gene and gender specific Alzheimer’s disease"
-"Filamin-A fragment localizes to the nucleus to regulate androgen receptor and coactivator functions"
