Teach your children to give respect (尊重).
Teach your children to expect respect.
When you give respect and expect the same in return, people sense that, and most of them respond accordingly.
For those who flaunt their disrespect or contempt, they are telling you who they are, not who you are. Help your kids understand this will make their life easier.
It is value that separate people (do it in your head,) not their skin color or social-economic status.
