You taught him to care, to have empathy for the suffering of others, to help those who cannot help themselves, all qualities a good person should possess.
Life has been too easy and comfortable for this generation. They lack opportunities to experience difficulties to overcome that give meaning to their life. So, fantacizing giving away life's possession like Bill Gates does becomes a substitute.
He needs to see a larger picture, both in time and space, in order to have the sophistication to achieve what he wants to achieve.
Also remind him to see deeper. He may see people waving flags and signs on TV. Does he see the ones behind the curtain? the ones in the dark with hidden agendas? the ones in the open with propaganda to manipulate and deceive?
He'll grow up with a good heart, penetrating eyes and a sharp mind. You'll be at ease and bask in pride.
