"Our national AOA ( American Optometric Association ) is recommending that patients who wear contact lenses should consider discontinuing contact lens use during this time with the active COVID-19 virus.  Extended wear is also ill advised.  Wearing glasses adds an additional layer of personal protection at this time.  Once this virus subsides it will again be safe to initiate contact lens wear.  This is another reminder why we stress the importance of a back up pair of glasses.  Let’s be safe out there!"
