The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) closes for nine holidays each year, and Nasdaq follows the same schedule. Columbus Day, now celebrated in some cities, counties and states as Indigenous Peoples Day, is not one of them, so U.S. stock markets will conduct business as usual on Monday, Oct. 12.
