My kid studies CS in a small LAC (Harvey Mudd). The faculty is small, consisiting of only about 20+ professors. Obviously it cannot compete with MIT, Berkeley, Stanford, or CMU in the number of world renowned computer scientists. However, the school does offer its students a lot of opportunities. For example, my kid , a freshman, already had have opportunities to interview with Microsoft, Google, Facebook, and D. E. Shaw (a big investment firm base in New York that manages $50 billions) for summer internships. Two weeks after school began in late August, many kids (freshmen included) were invited to dinners hosted by recruiters from companies such as Tesla, SpaceX and Microsoft on campus.
LAC also offers students a lot of opportunities.
