The writing project here usually are response after reading a book or an event. For English writing project, teachers here usually have several checking steps. They all grade essay by running through the software first. Your son need focus on how to write out his thoughts. 

You also need check if the Academic warining will show in student records for college application. Usually the integrity issue is a big issue to all kinds of colleges or universities. Our high school warned us at the begining of the freshman year.
