1. If the SAT score taken at 7th grade is bad, then we should encourage the kids that they will do much better in 9th, 10th, and 11th grades if they study hard and prepare well.
2. If the SAT score taken at 7th grade is good, we can only expect it will be better when taken in 9th, 10th, or 11th grades.
My kid took the old SAT in 8th grade and got 2280/2400. She thought she was done with SAT and later was told that she needed to take the new SAT. She wasn't happy about it. Then she took the new SAT in 10th grade and got 1590/1600 (and 24/24 on the essay).
Excellent SAT scores taken at 7th grade or 8th grade can help kids get into top summer programs.
