偶然看到6年级儿子的作业,他们正在学有关中国战国时期的百家争鸣的历史。老师结合这段历史,想了解家长如何教育孩子,给出了两道题。
Describe your family's policy on homework. For example, do you have special place to work? Can you listen to music? Use the computer or watch television while doing your homework? Does someone help you? Are there consequences for failing to do your homework?
Answer:
I don't have a special spot but everything is relaxed. I can listen to music, use the computer and watch the television if I want to. When I need help, I do get it, but it's usually to help me grasp a concept, not to get a free answer. Also, since it's more laid-back, there is no consequences for not doing homework; probably because I never forget about homework.
Which of following schools of thought is most like your family's policy toward homework? Circle of one of following:
Confucianism Daoism Legalism
Explain your answer
It is a mix in a way, but because I can do whatever I want, I consider it most like Daoism. My parent don't rule over me, because they rule as little as possible, giving me space. As a whole, I am left alone to do my homework, like a meditating Daoist; no big rules, calms and flowing alone, just like nature.
