I really hope that the student and parents follow the ED instruc

Oberlin is a wonderful school.  It actually requires ED applicants summit financial aid application first before applying ED.  The idea is that if you cannot agree with amount of aid offered, you probably should apply through ED. I hope that your relative was aware of the cost before applying.  International students who do not apply for finicial aid at the start ofare NOT eligible to receive financial aid.
