The topic of college stress came up today at our phone conversation. She told me that she is very grateful that her mom and I did not force her to to do things in our own way. We did not decide things for her, did not force her to take certain job, take certain class, look for certain friends, or join certain clubs. That was true. At the beginning of the semester, we told her not to stress on her GPA. The bottom line is to maintain a 3.00 GPA to fulfill her scholarship requirement. Anything above that is a bonus.
In the past short two months, she has already decided against her chosen major, joined three clubs, active in all, found a part-time job, being accepted in a lab as a lab volunteer, met students from other local colleges, and formed a close knit group of friends. Her schedule is packed. What else could a parent ask for more. Now, we know what it means that the school and the student must be fit with each other.
