You probably didn't plug in all numbers the first time.

Most calculators should be quite close, if you enter the real numbers.

Basically if you have two earners in family (like most Chinese families) with reasonably good pay, and one kid attending college, don't count on financial aid, regardless of your asset level.

If you have sizable assets, it will even be less possible.
