provides financial support to foreign students now? I applied before and had a good conversation with a professor there. We were doing similar projects. He sounded really nice so I thought that I would be admitted. But after the deadline passed for a while, I called and the answer machine said they didn't support foreign students. UC Berkeley was alike. A professor said she would support me, but later on, said they didn't support foreign students. Universities in East Coast made that quite clear in their brochures, such as MIT and U. Illinois at Urbana Champaign. Cornell was easier to apply.
