US News Top 100 colleges with lowest acceptance rate (Fall 2014)

Fall 2015 marked the first time ever that Stanford has lower acceptance rate than Harvard but a higher yield ratio (which measures the percentage of students choosing to attend after acceptance). Harvard held the highest yield ratio for many many years and it has now lost.

Will the gap widen even more in 2016? Very likely.

For private colleges, an acceptance rate <= ~15% is considered very competitive. 15~30% as competitive.

For state Us, a rate <= ~30% is considered very competitive.
