Anyone who ever read Bible should know the story of the 7 Good Years and 7 Bad Years.
Assuming 10% annual interest was charged on the food borrowed by the hungery Egyptian farmers in each of the 7 bad years, was there a chance that they could ever be able to pay back to St. Joseph in the years following the end of the 7 bad years?
If so, why there were so many becoming slaves building pyramids?
And why later, Moses had to lead the Jewish Exodus out of Egypt?
Your middle schoolers should be smart enough to figure it out and therefore, understand the fundermental of Jewish banking and its consequences.
